Inside Pop Up Card

This card was created after seeing the amazing cards made by the talented Margaret Pauling. She has given me permission to show her cards here:

Today a bit of sleuthing led me to a YouTube tutorial by Sam Calcott, showing how she reworks the Inside Pop Up Card from a card belonging to her Grandmother from perhaps 60 years ago!

My card was done with my Tuesday craft group in mind and was made BEFORE I discovered the tutorial. I tend to make standard sized cards, so I started with an A5 Kraft card base, and cut the inside panel to fit that. I also had not registered that the pop-out panels of Margaret's cards were different sizes! Since I was cutting for 8 people, I used a rectangle die to cut the gaps in the pop up panel thus:

Here is a view of the layout of the flowers, swirls and berries on the centre panel, followed by the cutting guide for the swirls I used:

The paper used for the front panel came from a 6" x 6" paper pad. I was able to get the front rectangular panel and enough flowers for the centre from the one page.
The dies used for these were from an unbranded set.

Below are the instructions I used for my group. If you are using them make sure you complete steps 12 - 18 before adhering centre panel in place, and that you do not adhere flowers or swirls over any valley fold areas!
I did not name the leaf, swirl and berries dies I used as I  would like people to use what they have at home!
Also use a full size acrylic plate, not small as in instructions - if the edges of your plate are not completely outside the card panel they will leave ridges where you do not want them!
Thank you for looking at today's post.
